Understand the result
PNG supports transparent pixels, while JPG does not. Conversion fills transparent areas with your chosen background. JPG often suits photographs; PNG can be a better choice for transparent logos and graphics with sharp text.
How do I convert a PNG for a JPG-only upload?
Choose the PNG, set a suitable background and create the JPG. Check the converted file rather than changing the filename extension of the original. If the form has a size limit too, use Image Compressor on the converted JPG and check its exact bytes.
Why did my transparent PNG get a solid background?
JPG does not store transparency. The converter fills transparent areas with your chosen background color. Use white for a white page, or keep the original PNG when the image must blend into several backgrounds. Check pale logos and edges before sending the JPG.
Choose the background before converting
A JPG cannot retain transparent pixels. Pick the background the image will sit on, then inspect fine edges and pale text in the preview. Keep a PNG copy if you may need transparency for another design.

The logo has a solid background.
JPG cannot store transparent pixels. Keep a PNG when the background must remain see-through. For a smaller transparent file, try PNG compression and inspect thin edges against light and dark backgrounds.

- Transparency is removed in JPG output.
- JPEG compression can introduce visible artifacts around text and edges.
