How to use this tool

  1. Choose a JPG, PNG or static WebP image.
  2. Read the code and inspect the decoded information.
  3. Copy the text or open a displayed web link only if you trust its destination.

Understand the result

Reading a code reveals the information encoded in the image; it does not verify that a destination is trustworthy or still available. This tool does not automatically follow the link or perform actions such as joining a Wi-Fi network.

How do I scan a QR code from a screenshot on the same device?

Save the screenshot as JPG, PNG or static WebP, choose it here and read the result. You do not need a second device or camera access. For an image containing several codes, crop around the one you want while retaining the clear border, then choose the cropped image.

Why will a QR code in a picture not scan?

Small, blurred, clipped or heavily styled codes can be difficult to decode. Use the original image where possible and keep the border around the code. If decoding succeeds but the link fails, check the URL separately: reading the code does not confirm that the destination works or is trustworthy.

Try a sample

Try an original sample to inspect the supported workflow. A successful sample is not a guarantee for every input.

If the result is not what you expected

No code is found in the screenshot.

Use the original screenshot and crop away unrelated content while keeping the entire code and clear border. Enlarging a heavily blurred code cannot recover its missing detail. One result per image is supported.

Important limits

  • JPG, PNG and static WebP only; one QR result per image.
  • Damaged, unusually styled or very small codes may not be readable.
  • A decoded URL is not a safety endorsement.
  • One JPG, PNG or static WebP up to 10 MB and 12 million pixels. Camera access is not used.

Frequently asked questions

Can I scan a screenshot without a camera?

Yes. Select the screenshot as an image file. This version reads uploaded-to-the-page local files and does not require camera access.

Why is no code found?

The code may be blurred, too small, clipped or low in contrast. Try the original screenshot, leave the surrounding clear border visible and rotate the image if needed.

Can it read several codes or a barcode?

This version returns one QR code from an image. It is not a general barcode scanner or a multi-code batch reader.
